It is my pleasure to be the Honorary President of the University of Birmingham Undergraduate Cardiovascular Society and as such would like to welcome you to this conference. I would like to congratulate the committee for organising such a varied and stimulating programme and to thank all the members of faculty for giving their time to help in its delivery. Call for abstracts
Mrs Catherine Sudarshan
Born in Kandy, Sri Lanka, Mrs Sudarshan qualified from Southampton. After training at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne, and the Royal Papworth Hospital, she was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon at Royal Papworth in August 2006. She performs a wide variety of cardiac procedures, including heart and lung transplants,
trans-catheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI program), and minimally invasive coronary and aortic valve surgery. She is currently the lung transplant surgical lead at RPH.
